Next Week’s Meeting at Tarantella’s – The meeting next Wednesday, April 1, will be at Tarantella’s Restaurant on Route 70, Medford. Dinner will be at 7 p.m. followed by guest speaker Bob Mitskas, chairman of the board of the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Price of the dinner will be $20 complete. Please make every effort to attend.
Palm Sunday Breakfast – Sunday, April 5, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Vaughn Hall. In addition to a great breakfast, we will have musical talent from local school music clubs. Bob Hanold has already sold ads for the place mats. Come out and work for a while and bring your family for breakfast. Call Bob Eckert, Bob Hanold or Karen Formont to volunteer.
Community Blood Drive – Friday, April 10, from 1 to 7 p.m. at Vaughn Hall. Make calls in advance or help out at the blood drive itself. Give blood if possible. Contact Rob Kalapacs to volunteer.
Second April Meeting – Will be Wednesday, April 15, at 7:30 p.m. back at the Country Club. Guest speaker will be our Lions District Governor.
Allen’s Tractor Weekend – The weekend of Saturday and Sunday, April 25-26, at Allen’s in Lumberton. Bob Hanold is chairing this project and we will have our lunch wagon running for two full days. This year we will even serve dinner at Saturday, so we will need workers all day Saturday and Sunday until the afternoon.
Murphy’s Day – Saturday, May 2, at the Murphy’s on Stokes Road. Rob Hanold will be signing up Lions to sell raffle tickets for the two weeks before the event at the Murphy’s stores in Medford and Tabernacle. He will need a full turnout of Lions to make this event a financial success.
Lions State Convention – May 14, 15 and 16 in Bridgewater. Contact Karen Formont if you can possibly make it.
Rubber Duck Race – We will help the Woman’s Club with the second annual duck race at the Lower Aetna dam. Ron Etter is chairing and we will have the food wagon out to serve food and raise money.
As you can see, we have many events coming up in the next six weeks. Please lend a hand at any or all of these activities. Thanks to all who came out for Ned Steel’s Celebration of Life. There was a capacity audience and the program was a wonderful tribute to Ned, who did so much for Medford Lakes and our Lions Club.
